BELLINGHAM, Wash. — For the second straight week, SteelFiber graphite iron shafts by Aerotech Golf scored second-place on the LPGA Tour. At the Marathon Classic, SteelFiber J108 graphite iron shafts delivered a T2 finish, while other SteelFiber shafts took home Top 10 money on the PGA Tour and Web.com Tour.
Playing SteelFiber J108s graphite shafts in her irons, the 20-year-old Bangkok-born pro already has three victories and currently second on CME Ranking and sixth on the Rolex Rankings. At this week’s Marathon Classic, she shot 67-69-66-68 (270) to push the event into a three-way playoff. The SteelFiber J-series is a private label iron shaft specifically developed for Aerotech Golf distributor and clubfitter Big Fish Golf of Singapore.
In other Tour action, SteelFiber i110 graphite shaft in a hybrib club helped score a T8 finish at the Barbasol Championship on the PGA Tour; and SteelFiber HLS980, i110 graphite iron shafts and i125 shafts, played in wedges, combined for a T10 at the Lincoln Land Charity Championship on the Web.com Tour.
“We’re excited to see the popularity of SteelFiber shafts continue to grow on the pro tours,” says Chris Hilleary, president of Aerotech Golf. “While many shafts designs on the market today simply repackage the same technology year after year, SteelFiber graphite shafts are real innovative game-changers. Unlike any other shaft in golf today, SteelFiber shafts provide greater vibration dampening, reduce player fatigue, and increase clubhead speed and ball distance, while at the same time delivering unparalleled shot consistency and tight dispersion.”
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
In 2015, SteelFiber shafts delivered seven wins — three on the PGA Tour and two each on the Champions and LPGA Tours. The previous year was equally successful with SteelFiber chalking up five wins on the PGA TOUR and two more on the Champions Tour. Players with SteelFiber shafts routinely rank high on the PGA Money List, Official World Golf Rankings and the FedEx Cup Season Points. In 2013, for example, SteelFiber players ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points and ended overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List.
