SteelFiber Captures Top Money at ACE Group Classic
BELLINGHAM, Wash. The No. 1 graphite iron shafts on the PGA and Champions Tours, SteelFiber shafts by Aerotech Golf collected top money at this weekend's ACE Group Classic on the Champions Tour. SteelFiber i110cw shafts delivered two eighth-place money positions, and continue to grow in popularity among tour professionals
Two of the tournament's top players each scored their first Top 10 finish of the 2014 season, trusting SteelFiber i110cw shafts in their irons. The two players tied with an 8-under par 208 (71-69-68 and 68-72-68) to receive nearly $46,000 each in winnings.
"SteelFiber shafts are well known for delivering the power of graphite and the accuracy of steel, and more and more tour professionals are embracing this game-changing innovation because of one simple thing performance," says Aerotech Golf President Chris Hilleary. "The SteelFiber i110cw shafts feature a constant weight design that delivers great feel, but they are also perfect for players who want iron shafts that are a bit lighter than normal steel shafts. By incorporating high-modulus graphite and micro-thin steel fibers, SteelFiber shafts allow players to increase yardage, while still maintaining a low penetrating ball flight that they may have had with steel shafts."
SteelFiber shafts finished strong in 2013. Last year, players with SteelFiber shafts in their irons won five events on the PGA TOUR and two events on the Champions Tour. In addition, players with SteelFiber shafts ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in the FedEx Cup Season Points at the end of the regular season. SteelFiber shafts were also No. 6 and No. 12 in FedEx Cup Playoff Points; and ended 2013 overall as No. 3 and No. 5 on the PGA Money List; Nos. 8 and 9 in official world rankings; and tied for first and fourth in Top 10 finishes.
SteelFiber shafts provide superior performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. The shaft's graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, while the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy.
