SteelFiber Shafts Shine at CVS Caremark Charity Event

BELLINGHAM, Washington — While benefiting regional charities, Aerotech Golf’s SteelFiber shafts recently filled a prescription for success at the CVS Caremark Charity Classic. Winning the $1.5 million purse, two PGA Tour stars — one playing Aerotech's No. 1-selling SteelFiber composite iron shafts — never gave up their first-round lead and posted a tournament-record low score of 24-under-par 118.

Rhode Island’s number one charity sporting event, the CVS Caremark Charity Classic benefits numerous regional charities. Since its inaugural event in 1999, the prestigious tournament has donated $14 million to hundreds of New England-area philanthropic organizations dedicated to helping children and families. The CVS Caremark Charity Classic features 20 professionals from the PGA, LPGA and Champions Tours, paired into 10 two-person teams.

“SteelFiber shafts have established a reputation on the professional tours for consistency and power, and it's very rewarding to see those performance characteristics pay off in such a big way at the CVS Charity Classic. Combining micro-thin steel fibers with a high-modulus graphite core, SteelFiber shafts are able to reduce fatigue, provide greater vibration dampening and increase clubhead speed, while at the same time deliver the stability and accuracy of steel,” said Aerotech Golf President Chris Hilleary.

Last year, Aerotech Golf’s SteelFiber shafts were in the irons of the No. 1 player on the PGA TOUR Money List, No.1 in Scoring Average, No. 1 in All-Around ranking, No. 1 in number of Top 10 finishes and No. 2 in FedExCup standings.

SteelFiber shafts deliver extreme performance through composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. While the shaft's graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy. Aerotech's SteelFiber technology is available in 75-, 85-, 95-, 110- and 125-gram iron shaft models as well as performance enhancing designs for hybrids, fairway woods and drivers.

Aerotech Golf is renowned for its high-performance shaft designs and innovation in composite engineering.
